The batteries are being recalled because they can overheat, which poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers. The company has received six reports of batteries overheating, resulting in the deformation of phones. No injuries have been reported.
The affected batteries were sold nationwide through electrical product distributors and retailers, as well as at Lenmar.com, from July 2009 through August 2009 for about $18. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled batteries and contact Lenmar to receive a free replacement.
