American Vintage Group LLC is recalling approximately 1,100 units of custom-sized faux wood blinds. The affected blinds feature 2-inch slats in silk white or pearl colors and were sold by various blind dealers in Texas between April 2009 and September 2009 for between $45 and $65 per blind. The blinds were distributed through Paramount Window Furnishings and Signature Window Coverings.

The recall is prompted by a risk of strangulation. This hazard can occur if a child places their neck between the cords of the pull cord above the breakaway device and the device fails to break away. The affected blinds have a pull cord with a breakaway device on the right side and two single cords on the left side. A label inside the head rail states "NIENMADE China" and includes a manufacturing code beginning with "MFG" followed by four numbers.
