Amby Baby is aware of two infant suffocation deaths associated with the product: a 4-month-old girl in Lawrenceville, Ga., in June 2009, and a 5-month-old boy in Gresham, Ore., in August 2009. About 24,000 units were sold from January 2003 through October 2009 via Ambybaby.com and other Internet retailers for about $250.

The manufacturer, Amby Baby USA, is no longer in business, and the repair kit is no longer available. Consumers who have not received the repair kit should immediately stop using the product and discard it.
