Ely and Walker is recalling Cumberland Outfitters girl's hooded sweatshirts due to a strangulation hazard. The sweatshirts feature a drawstring through the hood, which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. The recalled items were sold in four colors (melon, white, purple, and turquoise) and in sizes XS to L. Graphic designs such as a horse, vine, or flower are printed on the front and back of the sweatshirts. The care label displays RN number 14119 and one of the following style numbers: 561560EC, 561565CO, 561570RA, or 561575TU.
About 580 units were sold at department and apparel retail stores nationwide from April 2007 through April 2009 for between $19 and $24. The sweatshirts were manufactured in India. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard. Consumers can also return the garment to the place of purchase or to Ely and Walker for a full refund.
