Douglas Co. is recalling approximately 74,000 Lil' Snugglers children's blankets due to a strangulation hazard. The recalled blankets are 14 inches square with an animal head sewn in the middle and a one-inch wide satin border around the outside edge. The satin edge can come loose, which poses a strangulation hazard to children.

The firm has received 18 reports of the satin separating from the blanket, but no injuries have been reported. The blankets were sold in specialty stores nationwide and on the Web from April 2005 through December 2007 for about $12. The blankets were manufactured in China. Only blankets with a P.O. number of 1330 or below are included in this recall. The style number and P.O. number are identified on a white tab sewn into the blankets behind the Douglas red label.

Consumers should take the blankets away from children immediately. They can return the blankets to Douglas for a free replacement blanket or credit toward another item of equal value.
