Plain-English summary

Calligaris USA Inc. is recalling about 400 ICE Bar Stools sold in the United States. The recall is due to a fall hazard where the seat on the bar stools can detach, causing the consumer to fall and suffer injuries.

The recalled stools have a contemporary design with a black or chrome metal base, a low back, and plastic seats in orange, black, white, green, or clear. The words "ICE" and "Calligaris" are engraved on the underside of the seat. Calligaris has received five reports of the seats detaching, but no injuries have been reported.

These bar stools were sold at furniture stores nationwide from November 2005 through September 2006 for between $250 and $600. Consumers should stop using these bar stools immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a merchandise exchange or a full refund of the purchase price. For more information, consumers can call Calligaris USA Inc. collect at (336) 431-5500 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
