Plain-English summary
DreamWorks Animation SKG is recalling approximately 6,000 Shrek Ears Headbands. The recalled items are plastic headbands covered in bright green fabric with two ears resembling the character Shrek. A tag attached to one ear reads "DREAMWORKS" and "THE THIRD." The hazard is that a small wire can protrude through the fabric of the ears, posing a risk of cuts to consumers. No injuries have been reported.
The headbands were distributed as a giveaway product to employees of Pepsi Bottlers from February 23, 2007, through April 1, 2007. The recall does not include any ear headbands purchased or distributed free of charge before February 23, 2007, or after April 1, 2007. The products were manufactured in China and distributed by Paramount Pictures Corp. under contract with DreamWorks Animation SKG.
Consumers who received the headbands through Pepsi Bottlers should stop using them immediately and call (800) 782-6116 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for information on returning the headbands to receive a free replacement item.
