The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling Eusonic hair dryers, models 9318, 9329, and 2218. The recalled units are red with a black slide switch and the word "Eusonic" imprinted in black on the blower part. The model numbers are located on the opposite side of the handle from the slide switch.

The recall is due to a hazard where the hair dryer's power cord does not have an immersion protection plug. If the hair dryer falls into water during use, it can pose a shock and/or electrocution hazard. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

Saroj International Inc., of Vernon, Calif., imported the hair dryers from China. Approximately 4,000 units were sold in the United States at various retail stores nationwide from May 2003 through December 2004 for about $10 each. An additional 14,000 hair dryers were sold in Mexico.
