The affected vehicles were sold nationwide by Polaris dealers from June 2004 to September 2004 for approximately $8,899. The vehicles feature black seats, a green chassis, and "RANGER 4x4" displayed on the sides of the rear cargo box. The model number is located on the upper right frame tube directly under the right side of the seat.

There have been two reports of the lower steering shaft assembly failing, but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should contact their Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment to have the steering shaft assembly replaced. Polaris has also notified consumers directly about this recall.
