Plain-English summary

Susan Bristol Inc. is recalling approximately 1,100 ladies' Christmas sweaters with marabou feather trim. The recall is due to the marabou feather trim being dangerously flammable. The affected products are black pullovers or black mohair-lined cardigans with marabou feather trim at the neckline and cuffs. The sweaters were sold in clothing stores and small boutiques nationwide from November 2002 through January 2003 for between $44 and $74.

The garments feature "Susan Bristol LTD" on the collar tag and RN #43189 (CA05633) on a tag sewn in the right side seam. The sweaters were manufactured in Hong Kong. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the use of these products.

Consumers should contact Susan Bristol Inc. customer service at (800) 537-4309 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for information on returning the sweaters for credit for another product or a replacement of the trim.
