The chairs are being recalled because the support assembly can fail, causing the rocking chair to collapse. This defect poses a risk of injury to the user. Hill-Rom has received 40 reports of rocking chairs collapsing, including two reports of consumers receiving bumps and bruises to the head and shoulders.

The affected chairs were sold to hospitals and other similar institutions between January 1997 and May 2003. Consumers should stop using the rocking chairs immediately and contact Hill-Rom toll-free at (800) 445-3720 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to receive a replacement rocker glider.
