Pier 1 Imports is recalling approximately 48,000 Beaded Fish tea light candleholders. The recalled items are red, pink, or blue, measuring about 4 inches high and 8 inches long. They were sold at Pier 1 Import stores nationwide and on the company's website from February 2004 through May 14, 2004, for about $10. The price stickers identify the product with "Pier 1," "China," and one of three specific SKU numbers: 1997504, 1998132, or 1998145.

The recall was issued because the beads on these candleholders can catch fire during use. Pier 1 has received 10 reports of the candleholders melting or catching fire, which caused some minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
