The affected units were sold nationwide through electronics distributors, resellers, and audio/video retailers between May 2003 and September 2003 for about $2,200. The recalled amplifiers are black and have the words "CAV6.6 Multizone Controller" printed in silver letters on the front. Serial numbers range from 03141500000000 to 03281500000500 and are located on the back panel in the upper right-hand corner.

Consumers should immediately disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product and the outlet. Dealers and installers will contact consumers directly to arrange for a free repair. Consumers who have not been contacted directly should call their dealer/installer or Russound at (800) 638-8055 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
