The recall is due to a defect in the engine fuel lines, which are too long and may droop into contact with moving parts. This contact can cut the fuel lines, resulting in fuel leakage. Exmark has received two reports of fuel leaks, but there have been no reports of fires or injuries.

Consumers should stop using their mowers immediately until the fuel lines are shortened. Registered owners should have received a letter with instructions and a reply card for the modification.
