The recalled hair dryers do not have an immersion protection device on the power cord. This design defect could present a serious electrocution hazard if the hair dryers are exposed to water. The units feature a hang tag warning that they are not equipped with an ALCI or GFCI device and must be kept away from water.

CPSC and Babyliss Pro have not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to these hair dryers. The recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.
