The recall is due to a hazard where the buttons in the center of the embroidered flowers on the shirt can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
The recalled two-piece set includes a yellow or white ruffled top with flowers embroidered along the bottom and denim capri pants with buttons on the bottom. The sets were sold in sizes 12, 18, and 24 months and have the style number 8088 printed on the hang tag. Federated Merchandising Group, of New York, N.Y., distributed the sets nationwide between January 2002 and February 2002 for about $26. Retailers included Macy's, Burdines, The Bon Marche, Rich's, Lazarus, and Goldsmith's.
No injuries or incidents have been reported. Consumers should stop using these sets immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or store credit.
