The recall is due to a hazard where the welding of the slide bed to the slide sidewall can crack and separate. This separation creates a space where children's fingers can get caught, posing a risk of amputation. There has been one report of a severed fingertip of a 6-year-old child.
Playworld Systems sold these slides to schools, parks, and playgrounds from January 2000 through September 2000 for between $1,500 and $4,000. Consumers should contact Playworld Systems at (800) 233-8404 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to receive a new slide.
