The recall involves denim garments in sizes 6 months through 6X, identified by specific style numbers on the care label, including KL11450, KH11448, JL21338, JH21408, and JH31288. The garments were manufactured in Indonesia and sold at department and specialty stores nationwide from October 2000 to December 2000 for between $36 and $42.

The recall was initiated because small decorative metal appliques on the legs of the garments can come loose and separate. This poses a choking hazard to young children. The company has received one report of a child mouthing a metal piece that had separated from the garment.

Consumers should stop using these garments immediately. They should contact Designer Classics LLC toll-free at (888) 626-4939 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for instructions on returning the garment for a replacement of the same size. Consumers will be reimbursed for standard postage.
