The affected product consists of 15-oz. vacuum-packed packages of “Our Local SMOKEHOUSE Chili Cheese flavored Wieners” with a use-by date of January 19, 2023. These items bear establishment number 695SEWI inside the USDA mark of inspection. The wieners were produced on September 21, 2022, and shipped to a Family Fare retail location in Cannon Falls, Minnesota, where three packages were sold.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. However, consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
