The specific products subject to recall include 24.92-oz. packages of Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties and Great Value Fully Cooked Original Breakfast Turkey Patties, as well as 35.6-oz. packages of Family Size Great Value Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties. These packages bear establishment number EST. M2260T or P-2260T. The issue was discovered when the firm notified the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) that its third-party cold storage facility had inadvertently shipped the ready-to-eat products to commerce.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. However, consumption of ready-to-eat food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, a bacterial foodborne illness characterized by diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever. Older adults, infants, and persons with weakened immune systems are at higher risk for severe illness. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
