The uncooked, marinated diced beef and chicken cubes were produced between June 9 and July 10, 2019. The affected products are sold in 20-lb. boxes containing four unmarked 5-lb. plastic bags. The beef products bear establishment number EST. 45141, and the chicken products bear establishment number P-45141. These items were shipped to grocery stores in California for use behind the deli counter and are not sold uncooked to consumers.
The issue was discovered during routine label verifications performed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. FSIS advises that delis should not use the products and that any remaining product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
