The heat-treated, not fully cooked, not shelf stable products were produced between September 24, 2015, and March 23, 2016. The specific product subject to recall is the 20 oz. pail box containing AllFresh Foods ANJOY Chicken Fried Rice, bearing establishment number P-31993 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The recall was initiated after Garland Ventures was notified by their supplier, Ajinomoto Windsor Inc., that frozen vegetable fried rice items involved in a separate CRF Frozen Foods recall were incorporated into their products. The CRF Frozen Foods recall was due to an illness outbreak of listeriosis. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions due to consumption of Garland Ventures products. The recalled items were shipped to retail distributor locations in Colorado, Georgia, Missouri, and Utah.

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. FSIS and the company are concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers.
