2025–2026 Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycles rear brake line defect
Harley-Davidson is recalling certain 2025–2026 Softail motorcycles because the rear brake line may contact the Body Control Module, causing a brake fluid leak and loss of rear brakes. Loss of rear brakes increases crash risk.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The defect creates a loss of rear brakes, a structural safety defect that increases crash risk. Although no deaths or reported injuries are stated in the source, loss of braking function on a vehicle is a significant safety hazard meeting the criterion for Severe (NHTSA structural defect).
