Micro Bird Recalls G5 Buses Due to Door Mechanism Defect
Micro Bird is recalling 2023-2025 G5 buses because door attachment rings may delaminate, causing doors to open unexpectedly and risking passenger injury.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (door mechanism) that poses a significant risk of injury to passengers falling from the bus, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. is recalling certain 2023-2025 G5 transit buses and 2025 G5 school buses equipped with a power-assisted service door. The recall addresses a defect where the rod-eye rings attaching the front and rear door panels to the opening gear may delaminate. This failure can prevent the driver from controlling the door.
If the door mechanism fails, the door panel may remain in the open position or open unexpectedly. This condition increases the risk of passengers being injured by falling out of the bus.
Dealers will inspect the service door mechanism for signs of rod-eye ring delamination and repair the mechanism as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 7, 2025. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's recall numbers are 25-114-UUS and 25-116-RUC.
