What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The brake system air tank defect affects a safety-critical system and violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #121, but no injuries, deaths, or property damage have been reported. This constitutes a risk-of-harm product where actual injury has not yet materialized.
Plain-English summary
Autocar, LLC is recalling certain 2015-2022 Xspotter (ACTT) and Xpeditor (ACX) vehicles. The air tanks in these vehicles contain insufficient volume of air for the brake system, violating Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 121 (Air Brake Systems).
Insufficient air volume can reduce brake function, extending the distance required to stop and increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners have received interim notification letters mailed on August 29, 2025, explaining the safety risk. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts are available, anticipated in late June 2026. Dealers will inspect and replace or add additional air tanks as necessary, free of charge.
Owners can contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 with questions. Autocar's internal recall numbers are ACTT-2503 and ACX-2503.
