2025 Can-Am Origin and Pulse Electric Motorcycle Battery Recall
NHTSA is recalling 2025 Can-Am Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles because a faulty breather valve may allow water into the battery, risking fire or loss of power.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (battery thermal management) that explicitly poses a risk of battery fire and injury, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is recalling certain 2025 Can-Am Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles. The recall involves 478 vehicles where the breather valve may not seal properly, allowing moisture or water to enter the high-voltage battery.
Water intrusion into the battery can result in a loss of drive power, which increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, this condition could lead to a battery fire while the vehicle is parked or being ridden, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will install a new protection plate or replace the breather valve if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 2, 2025. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
