Jeep 4XE high voltage batteries can fail and catch fire
Chrysler is recalling certain 2020-2024 Wrangler 4XE and 2022-2024 Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles because the high voltage battery may fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: an internal failure of the high voltage battery can ignite the vehicle while it is being driven, and owners are told to park outside and stop charging pending repair.
