Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (electrical system) that can lead to fire, which aligns with the 'Severe' criteria for significant injury/property-damage reports or structural defects.
Plain-English summary
Spartan Fire, LLC is recalling certain 2023-2024 Gladiator, MetroStar, 2024 Commercial, FC-94, and KME Panther trucks equipped with Hercules HC 1.7 multiplex nodes. The recall affects 42 vehicles in total.
The defect involves the firmware in the multiplex nodes, which may fail to shut off the output pin in the event of a short circuit or wiring failure. This can result in overloaded electrical circuits that overheat, increasing the risk of fire.
