The recall addresses a software error in the instrument cluster that may cause the air pressure gauges and the visual and audio low air warnings to not function. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

If the air gauges and warnings do not alert the driver to air pressure loss, the vehicle may be driven without functioning brakes, which increases the risk of a crash. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2023.
