Shadow Living Quarter Trailers Recalled for Gas Leak Risk

Shadow Trailer is recalling 2016-2023 Living Quarter trailers because cooktop burner tubes may fracture and leak gas, increasing fire risk.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (fracturing burner tubes) that creates a significant risk of fire, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Shadow Trailer, LLC is recalling certain 2016-2023 Living Quarter trailers equipped with specific SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops. The recall addresses a defect in the internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves, which may fracture and cause a gas leak.

A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. The remedy for previously sold vehicles is still under development, but service centers will order repair kits directly from the equipment supplier, Suburban Manufacturing, and install them free of charge.
