Mack Trucks, Inc. is recalling certain 2021-2023 LR Battery Electric trucks. The recall addresses a defect in the hydraulic power assist steering system where pressure may be lost during certain driving maneuvers, resulting in a loss of power steering assist.

This defect increases the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the higher ratio steering gear and update the power steering pump software for higher RPMs on the steering pump free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2022.
