Temsa Recalls 2020 TS45 Motorcoaches Due to Fuel Leak Fire Risk

Temsa is recalling 2020 TS45 motorcoaches because fuel tubes may crack and leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (fire risk from fuel leak) where no injuries or fatalities have been reported, aligning with the 'High' severity criteria.

Plain-English summary

Temsa is recalling certain 2020 TS45 motorcoaches equipped with specific Cummins X12 diesel engines. The recall addresses a defect in the fuel tubes located between the fuel rail and the injectors for cylinders four, five, and six.

These fuel tubes may fatigue and crack over time, which can result in a high-pressure fuel leak. If a leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, it can increase the risk of a fire.

Dealers will correct the issue free of charge. For engines with 75 miles or less, vibration isolators will be installed on the fuel tubes. For engines with more than 75 miles, new fuel tubes with vibration isolators will be installed. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact Temsa's customer service at 1-833-628-3672 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
