Northwood Recalls 2019 Trailers Due to Potential Gas Leak Risk

Northwood is recalling specific 2019 Nash and Arctic Fox trailers because a stove component may cause a gas leak, increasing fire risk.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a gas leak that increases the risk of fire, which aligns with the rubric criterion for significant injury or property-damage reports (Severe).

Plain-English summary

Northwood Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling certain 2019 Nash and Arctic Fox travel trailers. The affected models include the Nash Travel Trailer 29S, 26N, and 24M, as well as the Arctic Fox Camper 865, 990, and Grande Ronde 28-5C. These units are equipped with Dometic S31, R731, and R2131 3-burner cooking stoves.

The recall is due to a defect where the saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened. This can damage the o-ring seal, resulting in a continuous gas leak. A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.

Owners should contact Northwood customer service at 1-800-766-6274 or visit a Dometic service center to have the manifold bolt and valve seal replaced free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 3, 2021. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
