Triple E Recalls Motorhomes Due to Chafed Wire Harness and Tail Light Loss

Triple E is recalling 2018-2021 Unity and Serenity motorhomes because a shifting water tank bracket can chafe the wire harness, causing tail lights to fail and increasing crash risk.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (shifting bracket) that leads to a loss of safety-critical lighting, which aligns with the rubric criteria for a Severe (4) rating.

Plain-English summary

Triple E Recreational Vehicles is recalling certain 2018-2020 Serenity S24CB and 2018-2021 Unity U24MB, U24FX, and U24RL motorhomes. The recall involves 1,149 vehicles.

When these vehicles are driven with the fresh water tank partially filled, the fresh water tank bracket can shift side to side. This movement can cause the chassis wire harness to chafe, resulting in a loss of tail light illumination. Reduced visibility from missing tail lights increases the risk of a crash.

Triple E will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional bracket to resolve the issue free of charge. The recall began on December 7, 2020. Owners may contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
