What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (suspension arm joint collapse) that explicitly increases the risk of injury or a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini) is recalling certain 2020 Aventador SVJ Coupe and Aventador SVJ Roadster vehicles. The recall addresses a defect where potentially damaged aluminum frame threads may have resulted in the front frame suspension arm anchor bolt being insufficiently tightened.
The loose suspension arm anchor bolts may cause the suspension arm joint to collapse. This failure could result in a loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
All affected vehicles are currently in dealer possession, so owner letters do not need to be mailed. Dealers will inspect and replace the front frame free of charge. The recall began on October 8, 2020. Owners may contact Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
