Thor Motor Coach motorhomes recalled for potential electrical fire risk

Thor Motor Coach is recalling 2019-2021 Windsport and Hurricane motorhomes due to a circuit board defect that could cause fire. The electrical control center may be damaged by voltages over 17 volts.

Plain-English summary

Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2019-2021 Windsport and Hurricane motorhomes (models 27B, 29M, 32T, 33X, 34J, 34R, and 35M) due to a defect in the electronic control center circuit board. The circuit board may be damaged by voltages exceeding 17 volts, which could increase the risk of fire.

A damaged circuit board could create an electrical fire hazard, potentially threatening occupants and property. No injuries or incidents from this defect have been reported to date.

Thor Motor Coach will repair the affected motorhomes at no cost to owners. Dealers will add an additional circuit module to the existing component board to provide reverse polarity and over-current protection. The recall began October 20, 2020.
