Compañia Hulera Tornel, S.A.de C.V. is recalling certain Tornel Deportiva tires, size P235/60R14, with DOT date codes 2216 and 4116 through 5016. The recall involves 728 units affected by a manufacturing issue where the adhesive between the belt and tread base may fail. This defect causes the tires to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139.
A tread block separation could lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall began on September 8, 2020.
