Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2017-2018 Berkshire Coach Ultra UL1912 and UL1913 motorhomes. The recall addresses a defect in the engine block heater cable's splice connector, where water and contaminants may enter, causing corrosion and damage.

When the heater is plugged in, prolonged corrosion could cause a resistive short. This increases the risk of overheated or melted wiring, which can increase the risk of a fire.

Forest River will notify owners, and Ford dealers will disable the vehicle's engine block heater cable free of charge. The recall began June 27, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
