Dynamic Tire Corp. is recalling certain Sailun tires, model S698 157/154 L PR20, size 315/80R22.5, produced between June 18, 2018, and June 25, 2018. The recall involves 130 units. The defect is that the Tire Identification Number (TIN) on the tire sidewall is incomplete and does not include the date of manufacture. As a result, these tires fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, which governs new pneumatic tires other than those for passenger cars.
The incomplete TIN makes it impossible to identify these tires if they are subject to a future safety recall. Using tires that are affected by a safety recall but cannot be identified as such can increase the risk of a crash.
The recall began on February 12, 2019. Dynamic Tire has notified owners, and dealers will reimburse the purchase price or replace the tire free of charge.
