Ferrara Recalls Inferno and Igniter Vehicles Due to Front Axle Spindle Defect

Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. is recalling certain 2004-2012 Inferno and Igniter emergency vehicles equipped with Timoney Independent Front Suspensions. The recall addresses a defect where inconsistent machining may cause fatigue cracks to develop over time in the front axle spindles.
This defect can result in the failure of the spindle and the possible separation of a front wheel from the vehicle. A wheel separation from the vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.
