The recall addresses a defect in the spare tire and rim combination, which may be incompatible with the disk-brake hubs on these vehicles.

This incompatibility prevents the rim from mounting flat and flush to the hub face. If an owner installs the provided spare wheel, the lug nuts may fail, allowing the wheel to detach and increasing the risk of a crash.
