Forest River Recalls 2016-2017 Flagstaff and Work N' Play Trailers

Forest River is recalling 2016-2017 Flagstaff and Work N' Play trailers because a propane regulator sight glass may crack, allowing gas to leak and potentially cause a fire.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural defect in the propane system that could lead to a fire, which aligns with the rubric criterion for 'structural vehicle defect' or 'significant injury/property-damage reports' (potential for fire).

Plain-English summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Flagstaff and Work N' Play recreational trailers. The recall covers Flagstaff units manufactured between August 11, 2015, and October 27, 2015, and Work N' Play units manufactured between October 25, 2015, and May 6, 2016.

The MB Sturgis liquid propane (LP) regulator on these vehicles may allow propane gas to leak into the regulator sight glass. This leakage can cause the sight glass to degrade and potentially crack. If the sight glass cracks, propane gas may leak out, which could result in a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Forest River will notify owners of the recall. A remedy plan has not yet been determined. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-888-291-6665 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
