Plain-English summary

ShowHauler Trucks, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Motorhomes, Garage units, and Toterhomes manufactured between June 1, 2007, and April 13, 2011. The affected vehicles are equipped with specific Lippert-brand Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps. A bolt used to attach the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture, causing the fan gear to disengage. This can result in the steps not remaining in the expected position and becoming unstable.

Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury. ShowHauler will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism free of charge. The recall began on February 23, 2016. Owners may contact ShowHauler customer service at 1-574-825-6764 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
