The recall addresses a defect where the tire sidewall may blister and the interliner may separate, compromising the tire's integrity at high speeds. As a result, these tires fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."

If the sidewall blisters or the interliner separates, it may cause a tire blowout at high speeds, increasing the risk of a crash. Vee has successfully quarantined the affected tires, and the recall began on May 25, 2016.
