Great Dane Recalls 2015 Trailers Due to Brake Actuator Defect
Great Dane is recalling 2015 Reefer and Van trailers because a brake actuator defect may cause brake drag and overheating, increasing the risk of fire.

Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain model year 2015 Reefer and Van Trailers manufactured between March 3, 2014, and February 24, 2015. These vehicles are equipped with specific Haldex Life Seal Type 30/30 Long Stroke Air Brake Actuators manufactured between January 9, 2014, and October 28, 2014.
The affected actuators may have an incomplete attachment of the internal rubber diaphragm to the actuation mechanism in the parking brake section. If the diaphragm is not completely attached, internal leakage may trap air pressure in the parking brake section. This trapped pressure may prevent the actuator from fully releasing, inducing brake drag and potentially overheating the wheelend service brakes, which increases the risk of a fire.
Great Dane will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake actuator and replace it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 2, 2015. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-912-232-4471 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
