Keystone Recalls 2012-2013 Springdale Travel Trailers Due to Propane Leak Risk
Keystone is recalling 2012-2013 Springdale travel trailers because the suspension may contact the propane line, creating a fire or explosion risk.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (suspension contacting propane line) that poses a significant risk of fire, explosion, and personal injury, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Keystone RV Company is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 Springdale travel trailers, model 266RLSSRWE, manufactured between October 18, 2011, and December 5, 2012. The recall involves 191 vehicles.
The defect involves the suspension potentially contacting the copper propane line for the range. If this contact occurs, it may damage the line, resulting in a propane leak. In the presence of an ignition source, a propane leak increases the risk of fire and/or explosion, which could cause property damage and/or personal injury.
Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will modify the propane line to route it away from the suspension free of charge. The recall began on January 4, 2013. Owners may contact Keystone Customer Service at 1-866-425-4369 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
