The recall covers buses manufactured between January 1, 2007, and December 3, 2012. These vehicles are equipped with a Ricon-manufactured wheelchair lift featuring an optional armored pendant cable.

The defect involves the installation of the armored pendant cable. The cable may have been installed in a way that it does not clear the wheelchair lift, or it may lack a protective cover, or have a misinstalled protective cover. This condition allows the cable to contact the power lug at the base of the wheelchair lift, which can cause a short circuit and result in a fire.

Owners should contact Glaval Bus or Ricon to arrange for a free repair. Ricon will provide a supplemental cover kit and instructions to correct the issue. The recall campaign began on January 23, 2013. Owners can contact Glaval Bus at 1-574-262-2212 or Ricon at 1-818-267-3000.
