Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. is recalling certain model year 2005 through 2013 medium duty trucks, including models NA6J, NB6J, NC6J, ND8J, NE8J, NJ8J, NF8J, and NV8J. These vehicles were manufactured between August 18, 2003, and November 16, 2011. The recall affects 35,142 vehicles.
The defect involves the main B+ circuit from the battery to the starter. Over time, wear caused by interference between the B+ circuit and its convoluted tubing sheath could cause the circuit to short to ground. If this short occurs, it may lead to a fire.
