The defect involves tension on the combination switch wiring harness, which can cause wear on electrical terminals. This wear produces copper oxide, increasing electrical resistance and potentially causing the terminal ends to melt within the wiring harness connector. If this occurs, the low beam headlights may become inoperative, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
