Vogue Tires Recalled for Missing Tire Identification Numbers

Vogue Tyre & Rubber Company is recalling certain Custom Built and Signature V tires because they lack the required tire identification number on the sidewall.

What this means for you

Cosmetic or documentation issue. No expected health impact, but the manufacturer is correcting the affected products.

Our severity reasoning: The recall addresses a documentation and labeling defect (missing TIN) rather than a physical safety hazard, fitting the criteria for Low severity.

Plain-English summary

Vogue Tyre & Rubber Company is recalling certain Custom Built tires (size 225/50R17) and Signature V tires (sizes 225/50R17, 235/50R18, and 245/45R18) produced between January 1, 2012, and August 11, 2012. These tires fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139 because they do not have the full tire identification number (TIN) branded on the outboard sidewall.

The missing TIN means that if a safety recall is issued for these tires in the future, they cannot be readily identified. The recall began on August 28, 2012.

Owners should contact Vogue at 1-800-323-1466 or their local dealer to have the noncompliant tires replaced free of charge. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
